ClearLift 4D Laser Facelift

The ClearLift 4D treatment is designed to achieve a deep mechanical effect by using light energy and sound waves to focus energy beneath the epidermis. This creates a wound deep in the dermis, whilst leaving the epidermis intact. Old collagen, pigmented lesions and broken capillaries in the dermis are broken down and resorbed by the body’s immune system, while the wound healing process, undetectable to the naked eye, stimulates growth of new collagen, as well as contracting and tightening the skin tissue. ClearLift 4D Laser supersedes the original ClearLift Laser by allowing the target depth to be variable: a more superficial treatment is used for the thinner, more delicate areas of the skin and for treating fine lines, skin tone and laxity, while the deeper tips target wrinkles, dermal pigment and thicker skin.

Typically, a course of four – six treatments is recommended, at fortnightly intervals. Thereafter a programme of one treatment every four to six months will maintain the benefits. There may be some variation in your prescribed treatment plan, depending on the severity of your condition.

Since ClearLift 4D targets the deeper layers of the dermis and bypasses the upper level of the dermis that house nerve fibres, the treatment is virtually painless. There is usually no downtime because the epidermis is completely bypassed and remains intact; however mild surface dryness, spots, or a small raised histamine rash that resembles a heat rash may be experienced, which is a normal response and passes in a few days. A patch test is required before treatment commences; this can be carried out 30 minutes before treatment if necessary.

Immediately after treatment, there is a noticeable lifted and tightened effect on the skin; however, the significant results appear a couple of months later, when new collagen has been synthesized, strengthening the underlying architecture of the skin, and both dermal and blood pigment have disappeared, producing a tightened, clearer skin with increased volume, reduced lines and wrinkles. Production of new collagen is stimulated for up to twelve months after treatment.
